This is an absolute beauty! Such a great size and a great patina due to zinc coating of the steel that has weathered beautifully over the years. Fantastic riveted seams adding to the industrial look and feel. A new steel base has been fitted so it's 100% watertight.
By setting this tank partway into the ground you can create a garden pond for water lilies and its deep enough to home fish and other water loving plants. (It's quite deep so you will probably need to add some rocks for the water plants that don't need such a depth).
With the weathered sides this tank will blend beautifully into the garden giving you a natural look and feel.
It's perfect in a formal setting landscape too, either a water lily garden or the catchment vessel for a water feature.
Drainage holes can be added if required. Again because of its size, it would make a substantial planter for a tree, vegetable and herb garden or a garden for bulbs and perennials.
