SOLD - PAIR OF 1960'S BESPOKE WEST MIDLAND PLANTERS
These are a super special pair of distinctive planters where creativity meets craftsmanship. They were commissioned in the 1960’s in West Midlands for a property in South Africa. The owner had a change of heart and the 25 planters never left the artist’s property, where they sat for the next 40 years. The planters were sold on in the 2000’s and I managed to pick up a pair in Brierley Hill, Wolverhampton last year. There are only 25 worldwide and 2 are now in NZ.
One-of-a-kind design. They’re composite and two piece. The planter sits on the base, criss cross legs. The legs have their own uniqueness, they slot together to create a X base. The planters are robust with their thick sides and a generous tapered, planting size. There are drainage holes.
A gorgeous weathered green paint patina.
