Gargoyles were originally designed in 13th century French architecture as a means of disposing water - a precursor to the gutter.

Gargoyles also had another function. As decorations up high, on the outside of churches and cathedrals where they were believed to ward off evil spirits.

Hermon is made of English stone from Devon. He has fabulous detailing, check out his tail. He is heavy.

He leans beautifully and mounted at an entranceway or in the garden, he will keep an eye on the goings on. Unique garden art.
